We have been lucky to have Matt come into school and teach us some skills in golf! We have been loving being outside and learning new activities. 

Wearable Arts Show!

WOW! I am incredibly proud of Room 1A and their hard work to create their wearable arts costumes! The show was a blast. Thanks to those who made it :)

Tongan Language Week

Last week was Tongan Language Week. To celebrate we made Tongan fans to keep us cool. We loved it!

Fitness

It's SPRING! That means warmer weather, yay! We have been loving going outdoors in the morning. We have been doing some fitness on the obstacle course. It can be tricky but we get better each time. 

Digital Technology Activities!

This week we have been learning some new skills involving digital technology. Soon we will be the masters of the internet!

Cook Island Collaborative Art

We have finished our Cook Island art work and put it altogether. It looks amazing up on the wall so come in and check it out!

E Pro 8 Challenge

Some of our seniors participated in an E pro 8 challenge this Term. They created a robotic crocodile. Here is a snap of the team and their crocodile.

Cook Island Language Week

This week is Cook Island Language Week so we have been doing a collaborative painting of a Cook Island design. 

Fire Fighter Visit

Last Term we learnt about fire safety. We were lucky enough to have some fire fighters visit us, give us some safety tips and show us around their fire truck!

Rumpelstiltskin Performance

The last few weeks groups have been working hard to put together a short performance of Rumpelstiltskin and WOW what a show it was. They all did such a wonderful job and should be very proud of themselves.

Term 2 Week 6 - First Week Back

Welcome back to Term 2!

We have had a great start back to school here in room 1A, everyone has settled in nicely and is excited to be back.

This week we have kicked things off by getting involved with some science! We have loved these experiments and can't wait to do more!

Term 1 Week 4 2020

This week in room 1a we have been learning to write formal letters. Here are our year 6s with their letters they've written to Mr Wheeler about why they should be our Netherby School Leaders.

Term 1 Week 3 2020

This week room 1a have been talking about teamwork and why it is important in our classroom. The students were able to demonstrate this in a brainstorm, during their maths lesson and in a PE game.

Term 1 Week 2 2020

This week we had Mr Tuanui visit our classroom to learn about the New Zealand flag and some of the history behind it. He taught us about traditions and the proper way to handle it. We also learnt how to put the flag on the flag pole so that we can be responsible for putting it up and bringing it down each day. So if you're around the school take a look!

Term 1 Week 1 2020

This week we learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi and thought about how we could incorporate a treaty into our classroom. We made a treaty about how we act in Room 1A and around the school.

During the week we have been working on an 'All About Me Flower' which we have used to introduce ourselves to each other.
